Join us at the Garibaldi Meucci Museum for the opening of Sicily in My Blood, an evocative photography exhibit by Joe Zarba. A retired NYC public school teacher, Joe Zarba is the founder of the nationally recognized photography program at Middle School 51 in Brooklyn, and since retiring in 2003, he has dedicated his lens to capturing the vibrant spirit of his beloved Sicily.


Joe's photography offers a poignant counter-narrative to the stereotypes often portrayed in popular culture. Through powerful black-and-white imagery, Sicily in My Blood invites viewers to immerse themselves in the rich history, culture, and resilience of the Sicilian people. Zarba’s work spans over two decades of capturing the essence of Sicily—its hardworking people and enduring spirit.
