Sobre o evento

The Garibaldi Meucci Museum invites you to an intimate literary afternoon with poet and memoirist Maria Giura, an Academy of American Poets award winner and author published by Bordighera Press.

Giura will read from and discuss her newest book, If We Still Lived Where I Was Born, a collection of memoir poems that begins above her parents’ Brooklyn pastry shop and moves between Brooklyn and Italy. Through reflections on family, Italian heritage, spirituality, love, and loss, the poems are rich with both pathos and celebration, inviting readers to consider their own roots and journeys of self-discovery.

The afternoon will include a reading, conversation with the author, and audience discussion. Books will be available for purchase and signing.
