Sobre o evento
Join us for an engaging afternoon with Dr. Frances R. Curcio, Professor Emerita at Queens College, CUNY, and internationally recognized educator and author.
Dr. Curcio will present her latest book, The Case of Antonio Meucci and the Telephone: Just the Facts—co-authored with Dr. Myra Zarnowski and published by Idea Press. The book explores the remarkable life and groundbreaking work of Antonio Meucci, delving into his experiments, inventions, and the long-debated question of who truly invented the telephone.
Through a careful look at historical evidence, Dr. Curcio invites readers to examine the facts and form their own conclusions about Meucci’s contributions to modern communication.
In addition to discussing this new publication, Dr. Curcio will share insights from her ongoing research in Italian and Italian-American history and literature, including her previous work Mio Nonno Totore and the American Dream—a deeply personal tribute to her grandfather’s immigrant journey.
Don’t miss this fascinating presentation…
