Un Ballo in Maschera (A Masked Ball) is an Italian Opera from 1859 by Giuseppe Verdi. The plot is based on the assassination of King Gustav III of Sweden in 1792. He was shot because of a political conspiracy while attending a masked ball.

Professor Louis Barrella has been a dedicated Music Educator for 50 years, specializing in Music and Opera Appreciation in schools and for many Cultural Organizations. Most importantly, he has given workshops and organized student trips for the Education Department of the Metropolitan Opera Guild for over 40 years and continues to do so.
He has been a Guest Lecturer at Colleges, Museums, and Cultural Institutions throughout the Metropolitan Area, making over 850 presentations since 1993. Over the years, Lou has made 40 presentations at or for the Garibaldi Meucci Museum including 6 Opera Nights and has conducted an Opera Class since 2015 and will do so again for the 14th season starting in April.
The event will take place on February 21st at 6:00 pm at the Garibaldi Meucci Museum
