Photographer/lecturer Anita Sanseverino will present "Carnevale a Venezia" at the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum.
Spend an enjoyable afternoon at the Garibaldi Meucci Museum, as Anita appears in costume and speaks on the history and traditions of "Carnevale," the wearing of masks and how this became part of everyday life in Venice. Anita will present her collection of Venetian masks and will show a film of the famed revelry and costumed figures that appear during Carnevale. Light refreshments will be provided.
It has always been Anita's mission to share Italian culture through her photographs and detailed research of her subject. An award winning photographer dedicated to the subject of Italy as well as a lecturer of Italian history and culture, Anita Sanseverino began her career by photographing New York City more than 25 years ago. She is a recipient of the Woman of Achievement in the Arts award, and has had solo exhibitions and lectures at the Columbus Citizens Foundation, Westchester Italian Cultural Center, Casa Belvedere, The Italian American Museum, Ramapo College, St. John's University, Wagner College, the Garibaldi Meucci Museum, and venues in Italy. Her work, highlighting the unique beauty of the region of Puglia, was featured in Bridge-Apulia magazine. Her photographs are on permanent display at the Frederick Gallery in Spring Lake NJ, at Wagner College in Staten Island and in various collections in the United States, Italy and Argentina.  Â
